El Paso avenged their loss to the Jr. Steelheads for the Western States Hockey League championship by scoring goals in the first and second periods and then holding on.  The Jr. Steelheads only goal came with 6:05 left in the third period.
The Jr. Steelheads took 10 shots in the first period, 13 shots in the second period, and a whopping 22 shots in the third period in a valiant attempt to overtake the Rhinos and get to the national championship game.
 
El Paso was 1 for 2 on power play opportunities; Idaho was 1 for 7.
The Jr. Steelheads, in only their second year of existence under Head Coach John Olver, finish the season with a record of 47 wins, 6 losses, 2 overtime losses, and the tie against Seattle in the first game of the nationals.
